The Institute offers research opportunities leading to a PhD degree. The degree is awarded based on a candidate’s successful completion of coursework, examinations, and seminars; publication of original research /conferences or award of patents/technology transfer etc.; and submission and defense of a thesis demonstrating significant and original contributions to knowledge or technology.

Candidates should read carefully the eligibility criteria as available in the Information Brochure before applying for the programme. Since all the applications will be screened/shortlisted on the basis of data submitted by the candidates in the online application form, the candidates must satisfy themselves of the suitability for the programme to which they are applying.

If at any stage, it is found that candidates have furnished false or wrong data/information, or the eligibility criteria as mentioned in the brochure not met, their candidature/ admission will be rejected/cancelled.

Online applications are invited for admission to the Ph.D Programme [Regular with Institute Research Fellowship, Individual Fellowship (i.e. CSIR/UGC/DBT/ICMR/INSPIRE etc.), Ph.D. through Project, Sponsored (External), Sponsored (Part Time), and QIP] of the Institute in the disciplines of Bioscience, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, Mathematics, Electrical Engineering, Petroleum Engineering, Chemistry and Earth Sciences .

Admission of reserved-category candidates will be done as per Government of India notification.

Once submitted, the application cannot be modified or resubmitted under any circumstances. No requests for changes to the entered details will be entertained. Please ensure all information is ready before beginning the online application.

Applicants are required to apply through online application portal only. Application fee (Non-refundable) is Rs.1000/- for Unreserved/OBC/EWS/Transgender candidates and Rs.500/- for SC/ST/PwD/Women candidates. In case you are desirous of being considered for admission in more than one "specialization", you should apply separately by paying a separate Application Fee

STEP-I: Fill in the ONLINE application form

Register with Your Email Id and Login. Fill in the appropriate data. Please note that you have to upload your testimonials wherever it is required to validate your information along with your digital photograph and signature.

STEP-II: Make PAYMENT and SUBMIT Application

Payment of application fee has to be made through online payment gateway only

STEP-III: Take PRINT

After final submission of your online application, you will be able to generate your online application print with your specific details/data. This application print may be retained with you for future requirement.

Please note that you NEED NOT SEND the application by post. Your application will be considered on the basis of your final submission through online. You can check submission, shortlisting, selection and other application related status from Application Status menu. You should remember your login id and password for the same.

Visakhapatnam is the only Legal Jurisdiction for any dispute arising on the eve of admissions into IIPE. In case of disputes, Hon'ble High Court at Amaravathi, Andhra Pradesh is the legal jurisdiction.
